Tengku Marina Ibrahim is a Malaysian painter based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Marina was born in the royal town of Pekan, Pahang in 1965. She moved to England with her parents at the age of 14, where she spent her formative years. She completed her undergraduate studies in design at Kingston Polytechnic London, before returning to her home country in 1987.

After a handful of years working in set design and interior spaces, Ibrahim entered the contemporary world of batik in 1992, when she founded Pink Jambu - a luxury batik house that continues to lead the industry. She was a pioneer in modern abstract prints, wearable and luxurious all at once. Pink Jambu has over the past 30 years enjoyed its status as a society favourite.
In November 2015, Ibrahim expanded her creative vocabulary into painting. She presented her first solo exhibition ALIVE (2015). Her natural surroundings were her primary inspiration, a subject matter that she continues to revisit in her work. She subsequently presented another two solo exhibitions in 2016 and 2017.

Her most recent collection GARDEN (2020) was an immediate success, having brought an idyllic outlook to the more serious situation of Covid lockdowns in Malaysia. She has since worked closely with Museum Pahang, who continues to commission her privately.

Ibrahim is known for her unique style of painting, a textured work that is a product of mixing chalky coloured pencils and viscous acrylic paint. She has a remarkable ability to harmonise otherwise incompatible colours to create unusual compositions.
Ibrahim few works have since graced the halls of Malaysia’s most prestigious residences, indicating this artist’s slow but steady rise to prominence.
